St Faiths Parish Appeal
From the Churchwardens
We are sure you feel, as we do, that it is a great privilege to have the Hospital of St Cross, a nationally important Grade 1 listed building, in our midst. We use the 12th century chapel as our parish church, and the community is able to make use of the lovely grounds and other buildings.
The Trustees of the Hospital, who are responsible for its upkeep, face enormous financial pressures keeping the church and almshouses in line with modern fire and safety standards. To support them the Parish of St Faith is launching an appeal to raise £50,000 towards a cost of nearly £200,000 for new lighting and wiring in the church.
The Hospital has lasted nearly 900 years thanks to the generosity of past generations. Now we must all do what we can to ensure these beautiful and historic buildings survive as a living part of our community. We hope you will feel able to support this appeal.
